My second blog post is on Takashi Murakami. He was born in Tokyo in 1963 and received his BFA, MFA and PhD from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Murakami has had recent solo shows at Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York (2003); Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Paris (2002); Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo (2001); Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2001); and Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Paris (2001). Takashi Murakami’s work has been exhibited in prestigious museums all over the world. His art is very interesting. It has an anime style to it. I personally enjoy it and I find it very interesting. So you could say that is kind of enjoying the art work. The cool thing about his art, is most of Kanye west covers for his Cd’s are created by Murakami. That’s pretty cool. His artwork is very busy and colorful, which is very fun to look at. I spent a great deal of time looking at a lot of his artwork because it is so exciting and electrifying. From pictures and blogs, Murakami looks like a pretty cool guy. I overall enjoyed learning about him and feel that his art is well-known and powerful to look at.
